What is Scalp Micro Pigmentation?
Scalp Micropigmentation, often referred to as SMP or hair tattooing, it is a non-surgical hair loss treatment. It is a form of cosmetic hair tattooing used to help women and men camouflage patches of hair loss due to alopecia, scars, thinning due to medical conditions or male pattern baldness.
These conditions can result in us feeling self-conscious and often avoiding social situations or events.
SMP creates tiny dots between the strands of hair on our scalp to give the illusion of thicker hair. You do not need to shave your head to have SMP as it adds density to thinning hair or can create the illusion of a shaved head for balding men.
The Process
The Scalp Micropigmentation procedure is usually split over three separate sessions. The actual time the procedure will take can vary depending on the extent of your hair loss, style you require & other factors.
SMP can only be performed by highly trained technicians. During the treatment, tiny micro- needles are used to layer pigmented Dots on your scalp in a process similar to getting a tattoo. The tiny dots are strategically placed into the dermal layer of skin to create the illusion of a full head of shaved hair or to add density to thinning hair.
